Travel to distant lands, outer space, across the seas of the earth and the universe!  Seek out your dreams and learn more about your heroes!  Learn a new craft, explore a new hobby!  You can do all of this and more in the Cameron - J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library this summer!

 

Earn points for reading any books you want!  Record you points and exchange them for prizes!  Earn enough points and you may win a trophy!

 

There will also be special programs each Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00pm in the Community Room of the Library!

 

Here are the student groups and rules:

 

    ►  Pre-schoolers and kindergarten soon-to-be readers

                  Earn 1 point for every 5 books someone reads to you

    ►  Readers who have just completed grades 1 or 2

                  Earn 1 point for every 5 books you read for yourself

    ►  Readers who have just completed grades 3 and 4

                  Earn 1 point for every 50 pages you read in chapter books

    ►  Readers who have just completed grades 5, 6, and 7

                  Earn 1 point for every 75 pages you read in chapter books

 

Record your Reading Points!

You must register at the Troup Library before you can start earning points. 

Any book is allowed, except encyclopedia type books. 

Points will only be awarded for books that you have completely read. 

Record your points on Reading Logs, which can be picked up and turned in at the library on Wednesdays only.

Trade in your points for prizes on display in the Librarian's office.

Earn Trophies, Certificates, and Chances for More Prizes!

If you earn just one point, you will receive a certificate of participation.

If you earn the most points or the second most points in  your student group, you will receive a trophy.

If you attend the award ceremony, you and everyone with you will have a chance to win great door prizes!
