Friends of the Library

Organized in 1992, the Friends of the Troup Library (FOL) have two major purposes: to promote the development of the Library as an educational and cultural asset to Troup and to raise and receive funds for the benefit of the Library. Membership is open to all that wish to strengthen the Troup Municipal Library. Annual activities include the summer reading program, the Composition Competition, the fall luncheon and silent auction, the development and implementation of the new technology plan, public programs, and special projects.

Joint Projects of the Friends of the Troup Library and the Troup Genealogical/Historical Society

The Troup Genealogical/Historical Society and the Friends of the Troup Library have worked together and are continuing to work together on several projects. In 1999 they presented the multifaceted Troup Goes to War: World War II project. It included a dinner with a program by Troup veterans; a historical exhibit; and a book. The organizations continue to sell the book, which contains over 200 photographs and almost 300 entries.
